A true gem of an item from the Betsy Beinecke Shirley collection,
highlighted by expert cataloger, Ellen Ellickson,
who describes the object more completely, below.

                      shaped like a dog (25 x 18 x 20 cm.). On bottom of

                   Each volume contains five stories. On the “Index page,” (p.
                      [3] of each vol.), each story is listed in terms of the
                      time it takes to read out loud.

                   Volumes are bound in gingham cloth.
